Animals

One of the highlights for visitors to Woodlands Farm is seeing the Farm animals at close quarters: ducks, geese, chickens, sheep, pigs, pony, goat, not forgetting Neptune and Daisy our two British White cows.

Bah! We are the sheep and we have been here for nearly five years now. There are four different breeds of sheep - Romney, Suffolk, Texel and Lleyn. In the Spring we are very busy with our lambs. The farmer shears off our fleeces so that you can wear a woolly jumper when the weather gets cold

Moo! I'm Neptune, the British White cow. I used to live at  Odds Farm, and came to my new home at Woodlands Farm in June 2007. I like to meet the school groups when they come to visit me in my field.

Moo! I'm Daisy, I am a British White cow too. I came to Woodlands Farm at 8 months old and am settling in well.

Neigh! I am Bob the Shetland pony. Although I am quite small I am very strong and tough. The farmer sometimes takes me to shows, where I give children cart rides.

Cluck! We are the chickens.  If you visit the Farm you will see loads of us wandering around the farmyard looking for food. Our favourite food is worms.  You can hear us clucking when we lay our eggs!

Doris & Iris the Vietnamese Pot-Bellied Pigs

Oink! We are the Vietnamese Pot-Bellied Pigs. We are called Doris and Iris. We sleep a lot and you may hear us snoring in our shed. We love to roll around in the mud and splash about in water if it's a hot sunny day.

Bleat! I am Biskit the grey goat. I found the Farm when I escaped from my owner. The farmer took me home, but I escaped again back to the Farm. My owners decided to let me stay as I liked it so much down here.

Ducks

Quack! We are the ducks. We waddle around the farm looking for food and then we go for a swim. We are good egg layers and the farm workers like to eat them for their breakfast.

Honk! We are the geese. We help to guard the place at night as we make a lot of noise when we see people we don't know!
