The Farm is a unique heritage feature, an excellent outdoor learning environment and a recreational resource. Run largely by volunteers, the Farm encompasses a diverse range of habitats, including ancient woodland, hay meadows, grazing land, hedgerows, wetland, ponds, the farmyard, gardens and an orchard. As with any working farm you can expect to find a variety of farm animals. At present we have over 50 sheep, 2 saddleback pigs, 2 rare-breed British White cows and their calves, ducks, chickens, 2 guinea pigs, 1 cat and a Shetland pony.
A wide variety of learning activities take place on the site, catering for children aged 3 upwards. Our new Primary Schools Pack aims to give you an overview of the different activities that school groups can engage in when they visit the site, ideas for suitable classroom-based learning activities and information about making a booking and arranging your visit.
Please do not hesitate to ring us should you have any queries about our sessions or to make a booking.
We hope to meet you soon!
