Physical
Education/Orienteering |
Spread over 89 acres of ancient oak
woodland, species rich meadows, hedgerows and pastures,
Woodlands Farm has two orienteering courses and runs a range of
orienteering courses and challenges for secondary pupils.
We can offer one-off workshops or courses running over a number
of weeks and will adapt workshops or courses to follow your
syllabus and the ability of your group. A typical course of
four, one hour workshops would include:

throughout the course · Star orienteering on the Farm’s training course · Short courses across the fields · A longer course across the fields
· An orienteering challenge through fields and woodland |
|
We currently offer two orienteering
challenges: · The Radioactive challenge: Pupils take part in a mock
radioactive clean-up operation where they collect personal
protective equipment from the orienteering controls and work as
a team to safely dispose of ‘radioactive debris’ that have been
deposited in the woods. Any ‘contaminated’ students will be
quarantined! |
 |
| · The Rocket Challenge: Students collect the components they
will need to make their water rockets from the orienteering
controls and use their compass to navigate to the launch pad. |
 |
Charges: Half day visit: £100; One hour workshop £50; One
hour workshop as part of a course £40;
One hour of self-guided
orienteering £20.All
