Hedgelaying Course

Take part in a full day of hands-on hedge-laying while learning all about the skill and why it is done here at Woodlands Farm. The day will cover topics such as preparing the ground, how to use hedge-laying tools, cutting of wooden stakes and the skilled art of ‘pleaching’.

This is a one day course which runs from 8.30am until 4pm.

There are 3 dates you can take part in the course:

Saturday 17th January 2026
Saturday 21st February 2026
Saturday 21st March 2026

Please wear suitable clothing and hard wearing work boots or wellies. Please also bring a packed lunch.

The course is £80 per person.

This looks like a fantastic hands-on way to learn a traditional countryside skill Great to see hedgelaying and wildlife conservation being kept alive—would love to join a session!
