The Woodlands Farm Trust (WFT), in close partnership with Sitopia Farm CIC, is embarking on "Our Green Blueprint". Funded by the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, this visionary project will co-create a transformational business, ecological, and governance plan. To bring this dream to life, we are hiring for two crucial freelance/consultancy roles starting this summer.
Role 1: Project Steward WFT - Project Steward Brief - June 2026 - final.docx.pdf - Google Drive
Fee: £10,000 (excl. VAT) | Duration: 6–9 months (Part-time)
The Project Steward is the heartbeat and orchestrator of this entire journey. You will hold the process together from "Dreaming" to "Launch," driving momentum, stewarding the budget,advising to hire specialists and ensuring our community, volunteers, and community groups genuinely play a part in designing our future.
You are: Equal parts empathetic community facilitator, rigorous project manager, and assertive internal client.
Perfect For: Someone with a proven track record of steering complex, multi-stakeholder projects who is deeply passionate about sustainable food systems and inclusive governance.
Role 2: Governance Advisor WFT - Governance Advisor Brief - June 2026 - final.docx.pdf - Google Drive
Fee: £6,000 (excl. VAT) | Duration: ~3 months (Part-time, starting July)
As we scale our impact, we need to evolve. You will work directly with the board and key stakeholders to review our current governance, conduct a funder-readiness policy review, and design a modern partnership framework to bring WFT and Sitopia Farm closer together.
You are: A strategic legal/governance expert who understands that structures exist to serve people, ecology, and long-term financial resilience.
Perfect For: An experienced advisor with deep roots in UK charity or social enterprise governance who knows how to map out legal feasibility and risks without losing the radical, community-led spirit of the project.
